I was just asked if my 68 rolling chasis/frame will fit under a '63 Nova. My first thought is no, but weirder things have happened. Can anyone confirm my suspicion? Thanks. C3.
With enough time and money anything can be done. Will it bolt up? No. I don't even know if the wheel base is close but I can tell you the body mounts won't. If you have enough fabrication skills and miles of welding wire sure it will fit.
The '63 Nova is a unit-body constructed vehicle just like the Falcon and Mustang. Technically the front end is referred to as a Torque Box...
I realize this is a Mustang, but if you remove the fenders from a first & second generation Chevy II, this is pretty much what you will see...
Hi,
Wouldn't the Corvette frame have to run THROUGH the passenger compartment to prevent the car from looking like the Corvettes (?) in the recent 4x4 thread?
Not every idea is a GOOD idea!
Regards,
Alan
Once again, where would we be without Google.Check this site out, lots of info in one place,I have never seen it before I did a quick search just seconds ago .
The Nova has about the same length and track, but a wheelbase a whopping foot longer than the C3,tough to hide that behind homemade body work...Could it be done, yes, but why.Basically the old Nova would have to be gutted and the body hung on the C3 similiar to a modern oval track or drag car,a huge waste of time and money considering companies like Art Morrison and Alston and a few others make the components and chassis pieces to correct the abomination that the underpinnings of those old Chevy II's were.
