Thanks for all the advise, I have all the replacement parts I just need a warm day to do it.
If they are like a 1990's it is easy.
Just loosen the armature cover bolts, pull cover off, turn armature clockwise and it will thread out of the transmission, the brush holder just pry off. To reassemble install brush holder, slip armatuure into the brush holder and turn clockwise till it bottoms out in the transmission and re-install the cover.
Good time to change out all the old internals without dealing with the window motor rivets.
Thanks, that picture makes it real clear and great instructios too!
Very easy to do, here it is all back together on my 1990. (when doing this brush holder are specific to each side and if you use drivers on passenger side the "up position on switch" will lower window) but re-pinning the motor connector is easy.
where the electrical connector on the brush holder is, is kinda thumb pressed into the transmission housing and has some sealer that make it kinda glued in place. just use a screw driver to pry it out is all.
There should be a slack adjuster screw on the transmission housing, I didn't mess with mine. Basically just bought ebay motors and swapped all the electrical internals and my windows are very fast now.
good luck.

I didn't re-grease the transmission, basically it's a sealed unit but I would think you could spray some degreaser into it after the armature is removed and let it soak and rinse it out. Let it dry, then re-fill with grease.
