The quick answer is yes, and yes. The in-tank pump will put out enough pressure but you will need to regulate it down to a level the the needle and seat in the carb bowls will stay seated when the bowls are full.

I removed mine. Went with a good holley mechanical and regulator. I did not want to mess with the electric pump since they are a bit tempermental and can leave ya stranded with no fuel pressure. If ya do, I would get a new electric pump and mark that unknown off the list.

On my 82 I upgraded the fuel pump and added a gauge so I can have 15 psi at the injectors. Your exisiting regulator can be adjusted to allow more than the OEM pressure and you won't believe the difference some extra fuel makes at high speeds. There is a forum specifically for crossfire cars and help is available. IMHO for the bigger engine you need more fuel.
