installed a new Edlbrock performance carb. Dose the timing change

Changing the carb does not effect the timing. You can always tweak the timing a little for better performance, but for daily driving the stock initial and centrifugal timing is just fine.

Just make sure you connect your vacuum advance to a manifold vacuum outlet on the carb.
