Where is a good place to buy an assembled 383 short block besides GM performance parts. They are to pricey. What are the pros and cons of going with a 383 besides more horsepower, lower et's, better sound, break neck speed and lots of smoke coming off the rear tires.
Got mine through Summit.. Considering the unknowns of rebuilding the 350 I think the price was great... Of course the down side of more horsepower, lower ET's,better sound, break neck speed and lot's of smoke coming off the rear tires.. OH wait... What was I thinking !!!
I posted in your short block thread but my builder is in western NC. Right now he is building me a 425hp 355" motor for $2500. It's balanced, file fit rings, roller rockers, intake to oil pan. He will ship. PM me if you want the info
WOW !!!! That's a great price for your 355. I may pm you after I get more replys from my post. I didn't see a shortblock assembly from Patriot, do they sell shortblocks. The gmpp warranty does sould quite attractive..
Just be careful on these so called cheaper prices. They are cheap for a reason. They use cheaper components. For most of the driving they would be OK. If you are going to make some serious HP and turn some rpms you are going to need better components. My crank alone cost 1000. I never fear turning it 7200 rpm where the limiter is set.
check out my home page I got mine from the engine factory it's dyno was 480hp @rw nice and i get a discount for refering you I"ll give that to you for Chistmas, was looking to split it my cost shipped to me with chrome intake, a/c compressor, unibelt assy, valve covers, oil pan, and anything else you can chrome was $7000.00 buT as otherwise mentioned cheap is cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
