I was just wondering if dropping in a new windshield would worth it or not? The existing one is cracked, and isn't the original piece. What do you think, will the new one crack after some time too?
Too bad that my 40 year old birdcage shows age...did my best to save what's left...
A windshield is a pricey stuff to buy and install (consider that I'm located in Hungary), I hope somebody has experience with it...
most windshields do not crack unless there is a problem.my windshield was replaced due to a stone .if you think you have a problem with the bird cage.i would take the window out my self because you are not worrying about breaking it and then you will have time to repair any rust that you may have, then call the installer. i would call ahead of time for price and avalibilty.
Hi Matt,
I agree that windshields crack for a reason, not just because of time.
I believe the installation is straight forward with one of the few concerns being that the new glass be properly spaced from the windshield frame so that the stainless steel trim fits properly.
On a newly painted car a new windshield makes a surprising difference in appearance.
Regards,
Alan
