Default Few spring questions

I been wanting to lower my 77 and have been looking at new springs, I am against heating springs so thats out, I have cut springs on a car before but not really my #1 choice, especially on 30+ year old springs. I been looking at the 550 springs but it says lowers only 1 inch, well i'm wanting it 2 inches lower. I do like the performance side of 550 springs but not if its not going to lower it enough. So my 1st question is to those who have installed 550 springs, Do they only lower it 1 inch or is it closer to 2? 2nd question, What is the diameter and length of the 550 springs? I can get ahold of any spring rate in different lengths from my circle track buddys that might work just as well that are cheaper than what I've found the 550 springs online for.

What springs does your car have right now?

If it's an FE1 (Gymkhana) car, you already have the 550s, and I wouldn't be surprised if installing a new set raised your car just a hair.

I used to have the diameter on hand, but I don't have that info now.

Corvette springs are Corvette specific. The ID is wider than other GM cars.

The 550# should lower the car 3/4"-1" but that will depend on whats been done in the engine compartment. If you have aluminum heads and what not, your not going to get as low as the next guy who hast OE cast iron stuff still in the car.

There is an advertisement in 1 of the magz and it's a company that does custom springs. Might want to try that route. I don't have his info.

My car is competely stock under the hood and factory springs under the front end, I have no reason to believe it has the Gymkhana springs since it does sit pretty high in the air as it is.

Are you sure the springs are seated correctly in the upper pockets? Post some pics of the ride height if you can.
