I just received a rear composite spring from VB&P. Should there be some type of sheild for the spring from the exhaust? There does not seem to be a part for this type of application in VB&P catalog and I forgot to ask them while I had them on the phone. Thanks....
When I bought my car it had a TRW spring and it had a heat shield. I would think it's neccessary to keep the heat off the spring. The TRW spring kits I've seen pics of have the shield. Hope that helps some.

You can fab one up if you need to. Should be pretty easy. Stock one is held to the exhaust by clamps with maybe a 1/4 inch space between shield and exhaust.
I am going to call VBP tomorrow. I noticed other sites that have the TRW's have a special heat shield included in the kit. If it is required, they should be including it in their kit.
The VBP also has electrical tape wrapped around the center section where the spacers are located. I hope this was just to ensure the epoxy they use to joint the spacers to the spring has time to cure. Anyone else with a VBP seen tape on the center of the spring? Should have done more research.....
Thanks guys. I spoke with VBP and they also said to get the heat wrap. They said this is a more perfered method since the TRW heat sheild does not cover the ends near the T-Arms. Could be BS, but on my car the turn to the muffler comes very close to the current steel spring right near the T-Arm to spring connection. I guess I'll be wrapping after I get my new spring and new muffler installed...
