You're only looking at half of your problem. If the tranny, diff, or e-brake are locked up (something is), then the engine would stall when you let the clutch out. I agree to remove the driveshaft first, which will eliminate half of your lockup problem. One possibility: previous owner may have had his diff lock up at high RPM, which might snap the tranny input shaft. Just an idea.
Not sure what you mean by "nothing happens" , clutch is not engaging ? or wheels won't move ?
If the clutch is engaging and the rear end squats your problem is at the wheels not the rear end or tranny.
I was wondering what "nothing happens" means too. Does the engine free rev, does it die, does it act any different when the clutch is out vs. on the floor, is the sky falling, or what?
I had a friend with his Camaro parked in the garage, put the car in reverse,it did "nothing" , scratching his head he put it in 1st and let the clutch out,it did "nothing" FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS,he said when he realized the clutch was sticking and not engaging (you guessed it) he was in the family room. He called himself every name in the book, climbed in his DD closed the garage door and went to work. He'll never live that one down.

That is NOT the ideal way to complete a troubleshooting session!
Well, i got it rollin! I`m embarrised to say but I had taken the outside of the calippers off but not the inside. So, I took the inside off and worked the rotor back and forth till I got a little play in them, put the wheels on, hooked it to the truck and pulled it with the wife sitting on the back and she rolls freely now. I cranked the engine and let the clutch out and she rolled under her own power for the first time in 14 years!!! I`ve been remotivated

Glad to hear you found your problem, but the way you did it (wife sitting on the back of the car and towing this thing around to free it up just sounds STUPID!!! Car had no brakes and she is sitting on a moving car!!

It does sound stupid, but I only pulled it about 5 feet out of my carport not around the neighborhood LOL!!!

Isn't this what wives are for? Driving the car with no brakes? Well, that and making sammiches.
Any Corvette I've worked on requires NO disass'y to determine what's jammed. There's free play in the diff that will tell you in 2 secs flat what's wrong.
