Down here in the 'South' cars are somewhat cheaper and it's not hard to find a 'fair' vette for $9-$10.....
Now, your appraisal is - well - how do I put this ? ....unimportant. :(
Yeah, the average 'Joe' might be interested - but a 'real' Corvette buyer will compare it to other cars. You may want to check out your competition and see what other guys want for theirs ('74-'77)....
Maybe if you post a pic or 2 then we could give you a better assessment.
My guess ? - well, about $7k to $9k..... Maybe start at $9,999 and let people make offers (always keep your 'bottom' price in mind & leave plenty of 'bargaining' room) - Also, POST it in the C3's for Sale - it's free ! :chevy
Selling it for 7k would really depress me, I bought it for 7,500.
I know the price was way to high, but I was younger and dumber... and a dealership really screwed me over. Holt autosales in holt michigan is a dealership that deals in Muscle cars, primarily vettes. Well when I turned 20 I headed out there and bought a "mechanics special" from them. I thought I took a really good look at the car when I bought it, however underneath the freshly undercoated frame someone (never proved if they did it) sprayed spray foam into the frame, then shaved it to make it look like the frame was solid...when infact the only metal left attached front to rear was around 1" at the top of the frame. To make this already long story shorter I went back to the dealer screaming mad, threatened law suits (all lawyers i talked to said I was out of luck) and ended up settling on trading that vette for the one I own now plus 1,500. making the grand total 7,500.
Guess after I put all the money and time into it I was hoping for 11-12k. But thanks for your input and I'll try to scan in a few shots of it tonight.
