Without pictures or options or equipment, and just going on your brief description, I'd say 15k is a good value. 17k is more retail.
If you buy it, then quit shopping and enjoy it!
I gave 13,200 for my 71 4 spd 454 Convertable mint condition.
There is a 71 454 4spd in Kansas asking 11,500 it is Daytona yellow. Will send the link if interested
So I don't "imo" think there is any rush for you. That car is not going anywhere very quickley plus that is approaching C2 prices,I said approaching. :)
Which brings up that my bud is going to part with his 1962 Vette. One of the nicest cars in the US.Converted to disc brakes,hardtop,370 gear,327 4spd and FAST!!If interested email me.
When was that? I have been shopping hard. C3 converts needing a lot of work are going for more than that. With that description, today's asking price would proabaly be $30k.

"This 1970 numbers matching LS5 big block Corvette is a clean original driver. The correct color is Bridgehampton Blue with Black leather interior. The beautiful, never wrecked body, was given a complete color change in the 80`s. The hood has been replace with one that has a slightly higher rise. The car has always been kept indoors but time has taken it`s toll on the paint. It still looks good but is no longer show quallity, my intentions were to have it restored to it`s original color, that will now be up to the new owner. I have never had the misfortune of having to use the spare tire, I can tell it is a Bias-Ply tire so ther is a good chance it is the original spare. The interior is all original, except for the radio, and is in extremely nice condition. Even the original leather seats are in very good condition. There is a tiny rock chip in the winshield. It has under 83,000 original miles which acounts for the limited wear.I also have the Rally Wheels, the buyer will have choice of those or the ones on the car, both sets have nearly new tires on them. It is truly a joy to drive this car. It was ordered with the 390hp, 500 LB ft of torque big block 454, and that is what resides in the engine bay, the one it came with. Also ordered was the 4 speed transmission with a 3.55 Positraction rear axle. Inside it was optioned with an AM/FM Radio(been replaced), custom interior, and power windows. That info comes directly from the original Purchase Order, which I have, along with the Protecto-Plate and warranty card. It`s obvious this car hasn`t abused and has had limited use. The N.A.D.A. guide values this car in this condition in the mid 20`s, tell me what it`s worth to you. Keep in mind because of the strike at the plant in 1970, production numbers are some of the lowest, combined with some of the most desireable options this car will only keep appreciating in value."

Make sure there is no rust! If you are satisfied with the price, buy it.
If you buy a fixer upper, your time and money add up fast.
Tell the guy you'll think about it and you have 2 other cars to look at first. Really play 'hardball' - if he sells it to someone else, then there's a better deal around the corner - trust me - rushing will only get you a BIGGER project and not a better deal..... :chevy
Price ? - oh about $12-15k - why ? ...if the underneath of the car is in the same shape as the engine then plan on investing $5k just to keep the car on the road - check out my sig. (bought this 'bubba' car for $12k four yrs. ago) - no I'm not 'sore' about it - it's a Corvette afterall but I could have found a better deal with more patience...... Good Luck !

17K is too high.. For that it would have to be a Vert.

It was 4 weeks ago.You want me to scan my airfare ticket since you don't seem to believe me?
You have not been looking as hard as I was
:D
Two weeks later I found"dropped in my lap" a 67 .The 71 is now going to find a new home @ a price of $14,000
JB, If you like the car buy it fix it up and enjoy it. Heck you can't get a Toyota Camary for $17k let alone a classic BB muscle car.
Just my $0.02 worth

I probably won't go for it, BTW. The posts in this thread have made me think it's a little overpriced for an unrestored car, and I plan to keep looking. I don't think that's jerking anyone around, though, just intelligent shopping.

"There is a lot of junk for sale out there"
Man that's the truth! I would never ever spend big bucks on a car without seeing it first.Digital pics hide many things or rather don't show many things
