Default Another Vacuum hose question -

I am having the problem it looks like so many have - when I turn the key off the wiper door slides open. Here in the photo - when I turn off the car this hose still has suction... and then it will trigger the aculator and thus opening the door.

Someone on an early post said to replace the Check Value and that should fix the problem. Just ordered a check value.

Thoughts - Is that the problem??

thanks
Mark

Lets look at the design. There should be vacuum stored in the vacuum tank after the car is shut off. Note, I said should. To open the lid, vacuum is applied to the actuator. This is controlled by the small signal line from the switch. The system is designed to fail safe open. So to open the lid, the vacuum is cut off to the vacuum switch and the lid opens. If the check valve is bad, as soon as you cut the engine, the vacuum signal falls to zero, which opens the lid.

Well - I installed the check value - and it is still doing the same thing.

I traced all the lines in the wiper diagram and everything looks good...

I guess the next step is to use a Vacuum tester and check each line - Yes?

Maybe you already tried this, but did you try swithcing the valve around? Maybe it is installed in the wrong direction.
