I am having the problem it looks like so many have - when I turn the key off the wiper door slides open. Here in the photo - when I turn off the car this hose still has suction... and then it will trigger the aculator and thus opening the door.
Someone on an early post said to replace the Check Value and that should fix the problem. Just ordered a check value.
Lets look at the design. There should be vacuum stored in the vacuum tank after the car is shut off. Note, I said should. To open the lid, vacuum is applied to the actuator. This is controlled by the small signal line from the switch. The system is designed to fail safe open. So to open the lid, the vacuum is cut off to the vacuum switch and the lid opens. If the check valve is bad, as soon as you cut the engine, the vacuum signal falls to zero, which opens the lid.
