IFD is a measurement of foam surface for firmness. In technical terms, IFD is the force measured in the pounds of pressure required to compress a foam sample 25 percent of its height using a 50 square inch indicator plate. On a four inch sample, the reading would be taken at 1” of compression.
PCF is basically the controlled performance test used to find the density of the foam once it is created. In simplified terms PCF (Pounds per Cubic Foot) is the measurement of the weight, or mass in scientific terms, of a cubic foot of volume.
Both of these two values were very important in bring the market correct proper fitting foam.
With this in mind all the formulas for mixing the seat foam were changed two years ago to achieve the IDF and PCR ratings used on the OEM foam during the production run of 1963-1967 and 1968-1982.
Old foam.. yeah.. I'll give you that one.. it was hard and as compared to the new stuff.. well there is no caparison.
The foam set comes with two bottoms, two backs. The back portion that fits behind the seat frame is loosely glued to the upper portion. All needed seat foam pieces are included with the kit.

When you take your old foam off, you'll see that this section will pull away from the seat back and give the appearance that it was a separate section or six pieces. When actually it was four with the two upper sections glued together.
If you order the seat foam set it will come with all the foam needed to install the covers on the car.
Note to Paul... yeah you got them from me..
And I thank you again!
