Vinyl Window Quality **Mods - My bad. Could you please move to off topic? Thanks***
Getting (14) casement windows replaced (either like for like or putting in picture windows....tbd) but curious as to the relative quality of the window brands we are being quoted (all vinyl):
Thompson Creek (they disqualified themselves based on INSANE prices but still curious)
Pella Thermastar
Ideal Perfect Fit 2
Grandeur from Simonton
There seems to be tons of information out there but not sure how much is real vs marketing.
I know a lot comes down to quality installation as well but for now I am focusing on the product.
Thanks
Shane

Hi,
Pella has a pretty well known brand name to protect, so I'd certain consider those seriously!

Alan

Just messing with you.
The only brand on your list that I'm aware of is Pella.

You typical top brands, Anderson, Pella, Marvin were all made of WOOD clad with vinyl overlay.....and guaranteed to rot....
seen enough of that, the ONLY windows worth a flip are solid white vinyl and double thermal and lo e gas for south/west exposures....depending....
only two types of windows that don't rot...aluminum and vinyl.....
down here some Sears operative installed TEN GRAND worth of the exact same vinyl windows I have on my house for a GRAND.....
now his count was higher, but not 10x by a LONG shot....
go to Lowes Depot and check prices....I bet your local store has window IN STOCK that will fit your house....they did here.....
install prices are about 50 bux/window....so don't get cheated there...
