Default Which way does it flow?

I feel stupid, but, which direction does he fluid flow to and from the heater core?
From the water pump through the heater core to the intake or from the intake manifold through the heater core to the water pump.

I know I'll get the PROPER answer.
Thanks in advance

It would not be dry but it will stop the flow through the core. I have a manual shut off on mine only because of the 105 degrees+ days here in the summer. mike...
