As I was getting ready to take off the door panel to get at my door latch, I got stuck on getting the Lock **** off. I scoured the forum for a few hours over two nights and all I threads said there was a kind of c clamp on the end of the Lock ****. Well, I got out the flash light and went to town and for the life of me could not see any kind of clamp. After more reading and finding similar answers I decided to break the bottom section of the Lock **** since I need to replace it anyway (all the chrome finish was rubbing off). So I started to break the end of it a bit by bit until I got movement and Lo and Behold!! The freakin' Lock **** screws off lol!!! I'm a moron and don't know how I missed that. In fairness I couldn't find any threads suggesting that it might screw off but I definitely should've thought of that myself. Oh well. To recap, on my 1980 L-82, the door Lock ***** SCREW off . There is no c-clamp. This may apply to 78-82 or 80-82 but I do not know. I'm going to go hang my head in shame for a while until I get a new Lock ****.
What your doors lock? J/k thanks for the FYI I am about to start redoing everything in my doors as I am working on getting replacement panels and arm rests. So I figured might as well replace all the other stuff inside that doesn't work right anyway while I am at it.
Mental note taken...."Lock **** screws off"
