Default Can someone help with hood alignment?

I have been having the same problem with 2 different hoods. It is the front drivers side. It sticks up too far. No shims under the hinge. Tried shimming and puts it up even higher. If I take the bolts out of the frame, it goes down very low. If I put 2 stock shims under the frame part of the hinge with NO bolts, it sits right. As soon as I put bolts in, it sticks up again and can not be pushed down. Any suggestions please?

Try a shim or two under the hinge rear bolt. Tips the hinge forward and down.

A couple of questions come to mind. Is the hood correct everywhere else? If so, it might be that the car was hit and not repaired properly. If the hood doesn't line up somewhere else, it could be as womvette says, the adjustment needs to be made in at the hood latches. Those rubber things that go in the drip rail are also for hood adjustments. If you have an AIM that helps a ton!
