Default 632 ci in a C3?

Does anyone have any experience stuffing a tall deck big block in a c3 chassis?

Do a search or shoot a note to Patrick, Pef427. He has a 598" in his '68.

Aren't all of the GM crate 572s tall deck blocks? There are quite a few of those on the forum.

Are you going to try to street that motor?

It should be wicked anywhere you use it!

Yep. The current plan is for a Shafiroff 598 low deck. Just wondering what would be involved to go even bigger.

You should have no problem at all up to 632 cid it's just a tall deck. For hood clearance you can re-modify motor mounts and gain around 3/8'' in height and you'll be okay or you can build a hood scoop. Stinger scoop modified on top of big block L-88 hood looks nice and you'll gain around 3'' inches clearance. As for headers you'll be better off having them custom built for few more bucks then buying them and have them nice and snugged for better clearance. Jerry Bickel sells some bend weld-up header kits $299 with flanges and you can choose any size primaries and collectors that you want, it would be nice to go 2 1/4'' primaries 3 1/2'' at least collectors for anything that's more then 540 cid.

Patrick (Pef427) lives in Beaumont and has installed a 9" under his car along with a Tranzilla 6 speed. You might be able to ride over and take a look at how it all fits. Headers took a little work on left side but right bolted up fine.
