Not positive but I think some have that V and some do not, just depends on the brand. What you need to be careful about is there is two sizes of TOB, usually 1.5 inches or 1.25 inches long. Sometimes the wrong one is used.
There are two different style pressure plates, one has three fingers that the t/o bearing rides on, and uses the short t/o bearing, the diaphram styl uses a longer t/o bearing. You should be safe if you use the same style you removed. the t/o bearing is not designed to spin in the clutch fork, the v groove should not matter. Use name brand parts and have the flywheel machined by a knowledgable machinist for best results. Replace the pilot bushing in the crankshaft and install it with the beveled input hole facing the rear of the car.
only the short bearing is used with Corvettes regardless of the pressure plate....A Borg-Beck which is a 3 lever plate for the early Vettes and the bent cone diaphragm plate for the later cars.....
as I said short bearing is correct with any style anti rotating device built in the bearing on the above V8 pressure plates
