I don't remember exactly how I got the actuators out but you don't have to remove the hood to do it. You may have to lower the hood a bit with one hand while removing the actuator with the other but you can get the actuator out from the top IIRC.

I take out the grille area around the parking light and then it comes out through that opening after turning it around and moving it through the various crevices in there.

thats exactly the way i got it out couldnt get it back in that way opened the hood got in the area than closed the hood and wiggled and wigglied and she finally popped in thanks for the responces tim bob
