I have had a clicking noise (inside the engine) for the last couple of weeks. I think that it is a lifter but not sure. I have readjusted the valves with no effect. The noise is noticable when my rpms get higher than 2500.
It looks like I will remove the intake this evening, does anyone have any ideas?
What I should look for? These are releative new lifters and there is only one clicking.
I have used a stethoscope and it is either #7 intake or exhaust.
I also had a clicking noise on my original motor also. I tried to condition the motor with oil conditioner, it did help but did not remedy the tapping. I then just dissasembled the intake and found a collapsed lifter. So, you might just have a improperly adjusted lifter or mabe a collapsed lifter.
If adjusting didn't help, then maybe taking the intake off and looking might be a better bet.
