Yes I am a so I apologize for any questions previously asked but I need some help! I am looking to buy a 70-74 project car (with minimal engine work if at all possible) What are the major things I need to look for when buying this particular car?? Is a slightly rusted frame a huge problem (does it need to be replaced) what kind of suspension problems should be avoided at all cost.. anything else I should be aware of? I'm not too familiar with the older generation vette's so any input would be greatly appreciated and again, aplogies for any redundant questions.
Love the "newbie" smiley and welcome. Look for frame rust on the frame kick-up just in front of the rear tires. Depending on how much $$$ and time you want to invest almost anything can be repaired.
The best advise I got was get the car in the best shape you can with the money you have. Don't buy the first one you look at, look at as many as you can before deciding. Don't take it apart right away if it's drivable, drive it and make a list of what needs to be looked at. Get the important things done first: brakes, steering and reliability then go for the cosmetics.

hey, thanks for the welcome and advice. I was thinking of buying a 76 vette that needs some work, the guy says it has a "typical" rust frame looks ok scale rust, it has factory am fm radio, a clean maine title. He has the rocker moldings and trim rings and centers for the rims. He also claims the motor runs excellent and has very good oil pressure (although I have not seen it) Any opinions on his description?
