I think so, but am not positive. I currently put a road demon in place of my q-jet. All I can say is I love it. My car ran a 14.6 at the track and now I am adding headers. I think the road demon can easily support 400 horses or more.
Check barry-grant.com for the specs on the carbs. Demons are usually under rated for the cfm. :D The carbs are built for a specific cam duration and HP rating. I have a road demon on mine and the cam is a little too big for it by 10 degree's or so. All I do is adjust and readjust. I'm getting pretty close to the nice point but it's been a long time coming. If you've got a cam with 224 or higher duration go with the Speed Demon. It'll be set closer to where you want to be.
i purchased mine from Summit racing. It comes with gaskets and the fuel line. The only things you need to buy are a ball stud kit, wires (for choke), and fuel line to run a new line.
I ordered the Road Demon. Then I decided...well hm..maybe I ought to see what Demon recommends for my setup and future plans. They told me I'd be happier with the Speed Demon 650 Vac Secondary. So I shipped the Road Demon back to Summit, and Ordered a SD. Another odd thing, a SD doesn't come with a Fuel Line, like the RD does...but there only like $20.
The only problem I had...was the lip on the back of the carb (not carb base)...hit my vacum fitting in my manifold...which is required for my vac accessories. So I had to grind off a little on the back of the Demon body..its not visible or anything...and it was in an area that didn't effect anything...all works good now...still fine adjusting the carb though...but runs nice.
Your right. I do like the Demon carbs. The new Mighty Demon looks good. My Holley only has about 2000 miles on it so it is hard to justify. Maybe if I can find a buyer for it. I might be more tempted :yesnod:
