Default Installing Aluminum Heads

Good afternoon,

Edelbrock instructions call for an oil/moly mix for head bolts prior to install. Could someone explain what moly lube to use and percent of each to mix.....

Thank you

Those are generic instructions for all engines not just chevy.
Most of sbc bolts go thru to the coolant and a sealer should be used instead on ALL the bolts to get even torquing.

The last complete bolt set I bought for a Small block from GM was under $29.00 for a complete set. Plus the bolts come presealed, However the head of the bolt needs to be lubricated to resist torque friction while tightening. At $29.00 for Factory bolt set pre sealed, it is hard to beat, especially for the amount of time it takes to remove the old sealant. Good luck Al
