So, I have an interesting "problem," also interesting in that I don't know if it is a problem or not. I have great oil pressure below 2,800 according to the gauge, but above that it starts acting strange. The indicated pressure will bleed off and stay low, around that first line on the gauge above zero. Also, my temperature gauge will start wiggling rapidly around the temperature that it was at during the "low speed" driving.
I hope I'm explaining it well enough...it's just unnerving to see the pressure bleed off like that. All I can figure out is that the oil is pumping up to the valve covers and staying there for some reason...because when I stop the engine and check the quantity of oil, there is enough up to the "full" line on the dipstick. :smash:
First thing is to go get a another oil pressure gauge(mechanical) to prove out your in dash gauge reading. If you are losing pressure on RPM rise, I'm not real sure I'd look at pump and its pressure spring or the bypass at the filter.
Good Luck

I knew that  , really I did . I figured you still had the stock setup and if your not getting a puddle of oil on the floor I would think the gauge and line were OK. I didn't have the drop in pressure like you just a consistent lower then I'd like pressure so I changed my oil pump out this winter. I went from 15 at idle and 35 at cruise to 30 at idle 50 at cruise with 5-30 Mobile 1 on an engine with 112K miles on it.
