I am not getting any illumination of my speedo/tach. The center console lights work fine.
All gauges are functioning, and circuit boards look fine....any ideas?

ps. Car is 1981 Vette.

There is a grounding wire running from the backside of the speedo/tach housings to the left/front door pillar. The wire could be broken or the connection could be corroded. The easiest way to test for this problem is to get a length of wire, connect one end to a known good grounding point, and touch the other end to the speedo/tach housing (with the ignition in the ON position). If you have a bad ground on that system, the lights should work when you hook up the 'dummy' ground wire.
