I´m installing new fuel lines on my '69 frame. I've seen in several pictures of other projects that there is a z bend on the feed line between mount #2 and #3 from the gas tank, as can be seen in the pic below. What is the reason for this? In my assembly manual the lines look straight.

The line on my 71 has the bend but does not raise up off the frame rail as the one in your picture does.
The bend is there so there is clearance for the large bolt that mounts the shoulder belt in the rear compartment over the wheel well.

If you look at East's pictures in the Tank Strap Thread you can see his line is straight. ?!?!

You said something there... I only have the lap belts, but I might want to upgrade to a 3-point belt. I guess now is the time to look into that when I have the body off.
