Default Door locks

I am getting ready to paint my white 79 a pear white and in the process of taking everything off the car, I broke on of the door locks. The drivers side door lock had two wires going to it and it was trying to pull them off it it broke. Where these wires for the electric door locks? The passenger side lock did not have these wires. I do have switches on the door panels for electric door locks.

I am just trying to figure out what ones I need to buy. The wires were not ment to be pulled off, they were soldered on. Damn.

The last guy that painted the car just taped around everything and the paint job was pretty crappy. I am sure it was easy to do because pulling everything off the car is very time consuming. So far I have the windows, mirrors, door handles, door locks, and rear window trim off. Much more to do.

Do you have electric door locks?

If you don't, the wires were for the alarm.

Good luck

If they looked like this, they are the alarm switch wires.

Gary and BHRIG you are both correct. Thank you. I did not realize I had an alarm system but I remember reading somwhere that it was avaiable on some cars. Now, the big questions is, do you thing i can order these? the connector broke right at the lock cylinder so it is not repairable. shazaam. Good thing is, it is a new project to work on after i paint the car, troubleshooting the alarms system.

thanks again.
