That door needs to move forward. Correcting the gap will give you a little more working room for making your repairs.
Hi Lars,
Here's a couple of pictures of that area of the door on my 71 coupe.
I believe it's a bit different on a convertible.
Hope these still help you!
Regards,
Alan
The door is of for repair as well as replacing pins in hinges.
The car is to be repainted, but not sure how far the edge should be located in relation to the body.
Hi Lars,
It takes loads of work as many others can attest to.
Good luck with yours. You can make them as nice as you'd like, it just takes time.
Regards,
Alan
Thanks for your input as well as pictures.
I'm planning closing the door gaps as you are doing.
I can fit my thump between the gaps on the passenger side!
My first thought was to realign the front flip, but would rather build up til acceptable.
Would like if someone have a photo of the rear top of their convertible door.
After your finished, be extremely careful when you open the deck lid. The bottom of the convertible top can hit it. If the weatherstripping is worn in that area, it will chip it if it makes contact. (ask me how I know)
