What engine are you running. For 2500 on a SB, you could do heads, cam, intake, exhaust and make a stock engine something to talk about.

With heads, cam, exhaust as Superfast said, you could get up to just around 400 hp no problem.

I have to agree, cam, exhaust, and intake are where to start. A new carb, heads, and roller rockers are also some ideas. But, if you do get roller rockers, it's best to also get new heads, since they won't make much of a difference on the stock heads. A K&N air filter is also a cheap way ($40) to get a few horses (they claim 5-10hp on a 350).

Cam and lifters ($150 +/-), Weiand Dual Plane Intake ($90), Lars Q-Jet rebuild ($100 + shipping), Lars Recurve Kit ($40-U install), Good true dual exhaust system ($300 & up) netted me a desk dyno rating of 275HP as compared to stock 76 L-48 rating of 180HP.....A huge seat of the pants difference compared to stock, for the money......and I havent even done heads and headers yet! :D :D :D

If yur runnin an automatic tranny the best bang for the buck on yur budget in my opinion is a higher stall convertor. In the begining before making any other engine mods I got 4 tenths better ET from a convertor swap alone. Convertor cost $200 and I installed it myself. The next 4 tenths in engine and exaust mods cost me 2k. Of coarse I didnt stop there. Oh and by the way, setting up turbo is not anywhere near cheap if you wann do it right.

tnt76vette, I recomend the TCI Break-a-way(2500rpm stall) for a mild to moderate performance upgrade. It would match your other upgrades well. Put and aux tranny cooler on it while yur at it.

Higher stall convertors create more heat due to the extra slippage and friction. The aux cooler is not always needed but is a sensible addition.
