Hello,
I have a 1978 Corvette, and Im planning on replacing the stock mufflers with flow master 40's that are currently on my 07 mustang. I was wondering if anyone knew any good reputable places in Southern California (Los Angeles & Orange County) where they would remove the flow masters from my 07 mustang and put them on my 78 corvette, ALSO putting a pair of GT-Take Offs on my 07 mustang. The reason why I am removing the Flow masters is that they are just too loud for my daily driver.
Well, if you're in Orange County there is Mesa Muffler in Costa Mesa on Harbor Blvd. I haven't been in there recently but they did some work for me a few years ago, nice guys. The guy who works on my Vette still refers people there. Good luck.
I recommend Long Beach Muffler. Several people recommended it to me. I took my Camaro there recently for some exhaust/header work, and they did a great job.

Who is the guy that works on your car I agree with him
Hello,
I installed two flowmaster 40's while keeping the stock exhaust setup and cat in place. I am pretty dissapointed with the sound that I got. It was my fault for not doing enough research. My friend has a 67 Mustang with Dual Cats and H Pipe/flowmaster and my 78 vette sounds nothing like his. I was wondering what are my options to get a beefier/louder sound while remaining smog legal. So far what I have learned and please correct me if I'm wrong is
Rear Y Pipe increased to 3"
Front Y Pipe increased to 2.5"
3" High Flow Cat
Possible Headers?
Are these upgrades worth it for the price I pay for the sound or am I better of keeping my stock setup?
Again I apologize for all the newb questions, I am still learning!
