Default Correct T3 Headlight

Hello,
Does any body know when they started using the new style T3 bulb on the 68 production vette?
I have a 1968 built in Sept of 1967 and it has one of the 1967 style T3 bulbs on the car.
I want to replace all 4 bulbs with the correct T3 bulbs for this cars build date. I think the only difference is the markings but I may want to get it judged some day.

Thanks
Eugene

The NCRS Judging Guide says, "Lamps for 1968 and 1969 are Guide T-3 with vertical bars surrounding the "T-3" in the center triangle logo."

If you look at the Willcox online catalog, it shows the minor differences in the "t" emblem on the headlights depending on the year. I took the Original T lights off my 69 Olds Cutlass and installed them on my 69 Vette. I keep thinking about and upgrade, but either way, I'm keeping these original lights...

I canned the stock headlights (for halogens) years ago, but outside of aesthetics, what technically does the T3 designation mean?

easymike is right but they also have an ink mark on the back THAT WASHES OFF with any liquid, take care!
here is the the way to read the ink stamp
Top mark = Trade number (like L with 4001 under it)
second line 5 digit. First digit= Month. Jan =1 on up to Sept =9 Oct=O Nov=N Dec=D
Second digit= Line number built on 1-5. (5=CIM line)
Third digit = Year built (3 for 1963)
Fourth and fifth digit = day of month 1-31. (08 would be the 8th day)
12V is under all of that
One dot on both sides of 12v is First shift
No dots on side of 12v is Second shift
one dot on either side is Third shift
Good Luck remember that ink stamp should be close to build date up to I think six months before
And super nice Vette from another 1968 Fan

Trying to keep correct T3 bulbs in your car will be difficult as they are getting harder to find. I've been paying $20 per bulb just for the correct rib style and not paying attention to dates. The filaments are old and brittle so if you plan on driving your car, you'd be better off putting that correct set in a box for when, if ever, you go to the NCRS judging field.

Might not be anything more than the manufacturer's trade name for them.
