After thoroughly cleaning all the ground connections to the frame. Does anyone apply something over these connections to reduce further corrosion? I live in the Northeast and rust comes fast and furious.

After you have wire brushed the terminal and the frame, be sure to use a STAR washer betwen the terminal and the farme. I then SLOP (yes SLOP) on some roof patching compound over the area.
I've found that the goop that they use on battery posts just gets hot and runs into the cracks and crevices between the wire and the post, and actually insulates the wire from the post resulting in a poor connection. There really is no "good" way to protect the connection, cause anything you use will also prevent you from getting in there and fixing it in case the connection simply becomes loose. If you really want to protect it then get yourself a spray can of Verethane or Urethane and spray over it...that should lock out any rust action...plus make the connection shine.
JK80,
I clean the area real good and then use some clear silicone. Just put a blob on your finger and smear it around till you get it smooth. Use the kind that comes in the big round tube, its made to keep water out, keep water out keep rust away.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Sometimes I can take a vary simple fix an turn it into a huge complex problem. They all sound like good ideas to me.
