Rear Axle Code 2AT71W
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if an HD 3.08:1 rear axle ratio was offered on a small block Corvette in 68? I have been trying to dig up any facts that I can to see what my vette came with when it was new. From what I can find on the net, the HD positraction was only offered in big block cars. Is this true?? Thanks!!

That was a time when anything was possible to order on your car. So yes, it is possible that your car was ordered with a HD rear end. The only other way to find out if that rear end came in the car is tank sticker.

Thanks for the info. I pulled the tank this winter, but no luck with a tank sticker. I gues it doesn't really matter what it was new, it's mine now and the 70 Z-28 LT1 that is in it runs great!! Thanks again.
