Default Has anyone moved temp. sending unit.

When I installed my Brodix heads I lost my spot to put the water temp sending unit in. I installed it into the 1/2 opening in the Performer intake. Problem is that cause its so close to thermostat that my gauge is constantly changing and never seems to settle in a t a good 200 deg or cooler. Anybody got any solutions or have had the same situation. Thanks

I switched the input location on my '78 from the LH head to the right side of the intake manifold. I would have used the left side of the intake, but there was not adequate clearance from the outlet hose. It was easy to add in a wire extender from the left side wire to the new right side location.

On my intake the Lh side is 1/2 inch and the Rh side is 3/8. Was yours that way too or different. Also when you did that did it give you good solid reads or did it bounce back and forth with the thermostat?

I have Brodix IK200 with Performer RPM QJet manifold. Here is my setup and it works great. I just had to extend wire to other side of motor.

The only problem is that the LH side is 1/2 pipe thread and the side you put your on is 3/8 inch on my performer.

It was the same size on mine, so an easy move for me. I'd think you could get an adapter from the h/w store?

No nothing that will work cause I'm going from a large pipe to a smaller hole and the sender will not fit. I'm going to drill the 3/8 side out to 1/2 and tap it. Thanks for the help

My sensor is 1/2" NPT; the threads in my Performer RPM were the same if I recall correctly; but if they weren't, it's very easy to drill and tap for the 1/2 NPT.

My installation looks like trainor's.
