I have just acquired a 1982. The engine has just been rebuilt but there is an issue with the crossfire injection. My question is, what issues will there be without the smog pump on the car. It has been removed and I am curious about how the computer will act. Also, Has anyone changed theirs over to a carb set up. Just curious.

You can run it without the smog stuff and there should be no issues,
what's it doing?
I am getting fuel to the injectors but not through them. I have not had a lot of time to check it out yet.
Sounds like its your fuel pump. Does it come on? Its in your gas tank. When you turn the key to one do you hear a buzz sound from the rear for a second or two?
The fuel pump will buzz for a couple of seconds. I have not tried to run the codes yet. I will try to work on it this weekend if I get some time. Thanks for the ideas.
i too have an '82, but after 2 expensive years of trying to troubleshoot the crossfire injection, i switched to a carburated 383 and never looked back!

Check the basics. The two fuses for the injectors, the one fuse in the battery compartment for the ECM....will you are at it check all the fuses.
When you turn the key listen for the fuel pump to buzz, then the injectors to buzz, as you crank it watch the oil pressure gauge and see if it climbs, no oil pressure may not allow it to start, there is a sensor for this.
Lastly pour some gas down throught the throttle bodies and see if it will start even for a few seconds.
Report back.
95% of the problems are caused by a bad fuel pump or hose on the pump in the tank.
What ever you do don't try and adjust anything on the TBI's or anywhere on the intake at this time.
I finally get to work on the car today. I pulled the tank and found that it had a hole in it. Also it had two bolts broke off at the fuel filter assembly. When I tipped the tank fuel poured out all around the top. Or should I say water. When I took the filler assembly out, I found that the top of the tank was rotted around where the gasket was. Now the question is, where can I get a tank and fuel sensor assembly. I have been looking on line and it keeps running over 500.00.

I am not sure where you can get a tank and sender cheaper. Sounds like thats the place to start. It could be your one and only problem.
If you have stopped bad gas or water from getting to the intake try pouring some gas down the TBI's and seeing if it will idle smoothly for a few seconds.
If you have the 15psi fuel pressure then I would look at the distributor. There is a sensor in it that triggers the injector pulse. Sometimes you can spray fuel in the TBI and get it to run but if it studders/ spudders at the injector it many be the distributor.
My Crossfire has had a few small glitches but once it's set up right and a performance chip/prom added you will have a very reliable car
