I've dug around alot and still having trouble finding anything on this #,I'm told by the po it's not an original engine but had upgraded cams.
On the front I read: c6f130515 and v1126tyz. By the bellhousing 3970010. Any help would be appreciated...
If your VIN is correct (C6F130515), then you have a 1976 350/165 assembled on November 26th, 1975 (for the 1976 model year) and installed in a 1976 truck built at the Flint, Michigan plant. However, check the year again. I'm not sure they used the TYZ suffix code in 1976. 1975 yes, but 1976? (My books only go up to 1975.)

TYZ is a 75 350 from a 1/2 or 3/4 ton Chevrolet pick up, but the "6" in the VIN would indicate a 76 vehicle???

The truck 350 is basically the same engine as a Corvette, or any other passenger car, 350. Many Vettes have truck 350's in them now, because truck 350's are much more common. There were probably more trucks and vans built 350's in the 70's or 80's, than Chevrolet passenger cars. Chevrolet passenger car lines were more likely to have 305's in them, in those years.
3970010 is the block casting number. This block was used to produce 350 engines from 1969 to 1979.
