Quadrajet Gurus Please
My carb sticks on the last step of the fast idle cam and the only way I can get it to drop to normal idle is to push the cam down with a screw driver. It drops off every step of the cam except the last step as the engine warms up. How do you correct this problem?

Do you have the integral choke housing on the side of the carb? Will the idle drop if you snap the the throttle in neutral? I once found a problem like this on a friend's QJ. Where the choke leaver passes into the carb body, there is a rubber bushing it rides in (set into the body). It was a high mileage car and he had frequently sprayed the linkages with carb cleaner and that rubber bushing deteriorated and caused the shaft to bind so it wouldn't idle down hot. Hope this helps.
