I was just wondering how I remove this thing...Do I have to remove the twist lock front cover in order to get that rear half off? I already unbolted the break fluid reservoir. I don't know anything about it, is there anything spring loaded or are there any parts that are gonna fall out when I remove the front cover. I'm removing it to sandblast it and repaint it. I finally got around to removing my stock engine/tranny and am detailing to the engine compartment to complement the new baby that's goin in.
Re: how do I remove the power brake booster? (TravMsns)
No do not open it!!!! There are 4 nuts up under the dash and a rod w/pin and cotter key that have to be removed. This is a PITA because there is very little room up under there. If you open the booster you can probably just throw it away. most of the times it will not seal back up properly and will leak. Hope this helps.

Big PITA to remove, basically you need to remove the seat to give yourself room to work in.If you just want to repaint,I would suggest just hand sanding,& repaint in position.
Re: how do I remove the power brake booster? (Fleetwood)
I agree with Fleetwood. I hand sanded mine, masked it off, covered the rest of the engine bay (and car) and repainted it. Much easier, unless you already have your interior apart.

If it is not broken - leave it in the car. Hand sand, paint etc right there. More that a PITA. To really gain access you need to pull the drivers dash panel to get to the 4 bolts that hold the booster to the firewall, and that is with some choice words.
