Repla ed heads, cam, lifters, rods, roller rockers, and added headers and Im trying to fire it up but it seems like there is no spark. Gas is getting to the carb and the engine is turning over but not firing. I swear the distributor is connected correctly. What could I be missing??
Recheck your distributor connections. Depending on your year there may be different connections and checks.
I think you probably pulled the distributor out during some of your mods. It looks like you may have missed one of the electrical connections either going to your distributor, or coming out of your distributor.
By chance is the shielding in place around the distributor? Several years ago my '69 was not getting any spark to the plugs. In my case the coil wire had a pinhole form and the spark was escaping and grounding to the shielding. When I took the shielding lid off the car would start. When I put my hand near the distributor the spark jumped to me and after I recovered from the jolt I had to check my nuts to see if they turned into night lights! A new coil wire fixed the problem.
It's not a common thing for that happen, but something to check. See if your coil wire may be bad.
