Default calling smokedtires... your 4-point

i was checking out pics of your 4-point you listed from jegs. i would like to get a ready made bar to put in my '81 like that. as you know the only major difference between yours and mine is the rear glass area. did yours come pre-welded like that or in pieces for you to weld? i would want to run the diagonal bars back at more of an angle since i have the room for it. i don't want to suck up any more interior room than i have to but still have a functional roll bar. also, was the bar listed as SCCA approved?

My bar came in kit form, so all the bars were separate when I got it. You get the main hoop prebent (which I had to put into a vice & square up before installing) and the crossbar was prebent also. The kickback bars are fish mouthed my the ends to help attaching to the main hoop. I also welded plates to the top of the frame rails to attach the bars to for added strength.

I've passed SCCA & NCCC tech inspections with mine. Nether gave me any problems with the bar, but they wouldn't let me race without one.

Mike - You could make a pretty good business out of building those things. Ever give it a thought?
