Default AFR Heads and Hooker headers

Does anyone know if there are any fit problems with the Hooker Competition headers and the AFR cylinder heads? Do you run into either a problem bolting the header on or any clearance issues with the frame from the raised exhaust ports? I tried doing a search but there are way to many returns to find anything....

AFR 180's and Hooker sidepipes here... No problems at all. I can get to all spark plugs (angle plug) easy, and the wires dont touch the headers.

I have Hooker Super Super Comps and AFR 210 Eliminator heads (angle plugs)....no problems at all.....easy access to plugs, frame clearance is good. The raised ports (.250") are not an issue.....remember that heads angle out, so it's not really a straight up vertical rise; maybe an 1/8" at most.

Hooker, they will fit some angle plug while not fitting other heads. I believe they say the don't fit angle plug heads in the ad.

If you want a SS set with 1 7/8" primary pipes, these are the best set of headers I have ever had my hands on and they sell for a little more than the painted Hooker Super Comps. The company is a Forum sponsor Custom Image

Just a note to say they fit my AFR 227 angle plug head so there is a good chance they will fit the 210's

I am putting them on, drive to the same shop that I used previously
and I am looking for the magic 500RWHP all motor. It will happen soon but she's still in hibernation. :toetap:

I currently have super comp ceramic coated and sportsman 2 heads. Planning a change to AFR 195s and more cam. Wanted to make sure my headers would still cut it. Sounds like they will. Thanks guys.

Oh, one more thing. You guys running angle plug heads, are you using short plugs to gain extra clearance or do standard plugs get it done?

Previous to the current AFR 210s, I had AFR 195s with these same headers.....they will fit. I use standard size Delco plugs. The tightest area is the #6 plug, but it accessible.
