Default My Differential

Here are some pics after a first inspection...

It looks good, do you agree??

It's a Posi 3.08, side play 0.030" right and 0.053" left

I'm doing a frame-off restoration, my car is a 69" with TH400 and a more than 400 hp 383.

I'm quite confused about what to do with it...only a cosmetic refresh, or a total rebuild swapping to a 3.54 or 3.73 ???

I will use the car especially for urban cruising, track day and sometimes for drag races, so few highway mileage.

What do you think about it?

nothing much one can see here regarding bearing wear and how well the teeth mesh..
how did it sound during accelleration and decelleration? any whine-ing or growling?

can't tell about the clutch pack either..

the yokes look great..

get you a heavy duty rear end cover and put caps intead of those straps to hold your half shafts on..

Its hard to tell, but in the fourth pic it looks like there is a small hairline crack in the posi case in the lower right corner of the window. Could you get a closer picture? Hopefully that is not what I am seeing because if it is you might want to replace the posi housing.

What do you think shall I go with a 3.54 or with a 3.73 ???
I remember you that my car is a 69" with TH400 and a more than 400 hp 383 engine.
