E-brake cable routing through an offset trailing arm
I need photo's of an after market offset trailing arm of how the e brake cable is routed and contained
just before it enters into the e brake Assembly. Mine have a bent over tab and I have no plastic bushing for this,
the original one is to small to fit there. Am I just suppose to open up that small tab just enough for
the steel cable to still be able to move as the brake is being applied?
By the way I am not talking about the mickey mouse clip that holds the steel sheath that the cable
runs through.
Nice setup you have there, No the pictures don't show the small bent over tab that is supposed to hold the spring back
that is around the steel cable for the cable to return when the e-brake is released, If I am saying that right. on the original
trailing arms this would set in the little plastic retainer, but those little plastic retainers don't fit the after market trailing arms.
I won't be back at the car until this weekend, if you haven't figured it out by then I'll be happy to take whatever shots you need. PM me with your # and we'll figure out what angles you need to get what you're looking for.
Yep, but mine doesn't look like that, My trailing arms have a 1/4 piece of metal welded to the arm
and then it folds over it's self, like the cable is meant to run through it between the folds, metal to
metal over time the cable would start to fray, not good.
I guess I will have to make a better mount for it.
