Recommended diff lube short

I have an 81 vette and I'm had the gears redone in the rear. I ordered the recommended amount of GM fluid (2 - 23oz bottles) and the GM limited slip lube (4oz) but I'm still short fluid. From what I understand the fluid is suppose to come up to the fill plug but mine is short of that. Should I add more or is the amount of fluid good. Thanks for any help

With the car level add until it comes back out the fill hole. Mine took more than two bottles when I had the diff. rebuilt. mike...

Go to Wall Mart or NAPA and buy some Lucas oil stabilizer and top it off, your differential will live longer with Lucas in it.
