Do I Have Gymkhana Suspension

I have a 77 without the manufacturer order. How can I tell by looking under the rear end if I have Gymkhana Suspension or not?

Count the rear leaf springs. Standard was nine leaves, Gymkhana was seven leaves.

Besides stiffer springs, FE-7 has a larger ft. sway bar & adds a rear sway bar.
Check for a rear sway bar.

Out of luck, Nine Springs & No Sway Bar, Would it help to put a sway bar in the rear?

Hell yes. A 5/8 in diameter bar should do fine. Get the 7 leaf spring as well.

Don't make changes to the rear without balancing that with the approprate changes to the front. The gymkhana has stiffer front springs and a thicker front sway bar. Without these your suspension will be unbalanced. Could find your rear trying to pass the front. If you make any changes be sure to look at what changes must be made on the other end.
