What's THE best fuel injection kit that I can buy for the stroker. I'm looking at the Accel SuperRam. Looks pretty nice. Fully programable with a laptop. I'm sure that you guys can find something that's even better. And if you can't, fill me in on how the Accel performs. Thanks guys
I would post on the C-4 page. Lots of rams there. TPIS, Arizonia Speed, and S & P all have highier flowing kits. The biggest Hp numbers have come from the Ram though. Beach Bum over in C-4 land runs very low 12's and 11's with his 383 super ram.
You could even make you own system if you wanted using their harness. The systems are not complicated. Easy starts are a good thing, but at 1.60 for gas it very nice.
I don't mind the price of gas going up. If it gets too high I'm going to start mixing alcohol in with the gas to cut down on the gas usage and get a nice bump in power. Alcohol is $2.50/gal here.
I liked the specs on the Edelbrock RPM Pro system which includes a programmable computer that goes in the car so you can tune while you drive, and swap different settings while on the go. It includes everything you need for a small block.

As far as I know, the Edelbrock is not programmable on the fly. You can change the parameters, but they will not take effect until the shut down the system.
XFACTOR - be careful when you tip the alcohol bottle. Methanol is corrosive to fuel line components - even when used at 5% (volume) methanol to gasoline. It really doesn't make a good octane booster. I have an alcohol fueled open-road race car, and I had to get all teflon lined flex hose, and alcohol compatible pump and carb.
Shawn_cake point taken. But, I'm planning on making the system alcohol compatable before ever thinking of adding a little :D . Thanks for the heads up though. And you guys are right, the edelbrock is not programmable on the fly. The accel superram is however. How does TPI stand up to Sequential Multi Point?
Last time I talked to Accel about their stuff, they said that the current system (Gen VII) would not be sold through Jeg's or Summit. Just make sure you know what you're getting. You may be better off buying the intake from Accel, and then getting a Holley Commander 950 ECM kit to go with it. It's much more advanced than the Accel 6.
With any of the Accel kits, you also have to buy their Calcom software and cable separate for around $270.
Yeah I know about the software thing. That's a drawback. I'm not sure I like the Holley Commander system though. Holley never posts and specs on their units like all the other companies do. They just say "This is a great system you should buy it" Their ads are very misleading. What do you think the new Accel system will go for $ wise?

What kind of specs are you looking for? I have the commander 950 system on my car, so any questions you have, just ask.
That's the TBI system right? I have thought about that one. How is it for programing, (easy or hard) and with what do you program it with, lap top or pre-burnt chips? Does it hook into a O2 sensor (closed loop? - I get those mixed up)? Would it be good with a 700r4?
The cmdr 950 comes both as TBI and MPFI. The same controller box will do both. I have the MPFI.
Programming is not that hard. Quite fun actually. It is all done via laptop. No chip. It comes with an O2 sensor and does closed loop. It will not control a TH700R4, you would have to get something else to control the lockup torque converter.
Another alternative for the DIYer is retrofitting an OEM computer to your application. The software has been hacked by quite a few smart folks and can be made to have the same abilities as the aftermarket stuff (minus the on the fly tuning) and some more on top of that... such as torque converter lockup, check engine light, knock sensing, etc... http://www.diy-efi.org has tons of info on the GM engine controllers. Be wary of asking basic questions on the mailing list, though, as it seems a few folks on the list have a pet peeve about people who don't do their own research... as if a forum isn't research in and of itself.

Looks like you were right Flareside. The web sites are saying another $895 for the newest chip. That's just entirely too expensive for me. Why is Accel charging $1000+ overtop of what the other companies are charging?
