Default Header installation 75L48

I have a set of old (new) blackjack headers I'm going to be installing this weekend and looking for tips and tricks to make the job easier, and not break any bolts... I have a set of Remflex graphite gaskets, stage 8 header bolts and a can of Kroil. Has anyone used the gaskets? are they as good as they say they are...what kinda life will I get outa them?
Does the Kroil work and whats the best way to use it? my buddy at Dons Speed shop gave me the can and told to use this stuff it works great, he said put on the joints and heat the bolts with a propane torch for awhile. whats the best way to get the ramhorns off..engine warm, engine hot or engine cold
appreciate any advise
The last set of headers I put on was on my 65 goat back in the 70's.
thanks

Put the car up on jack stands and install from bottom. Get all the bolts started first before you start screwing them down. Don't know about the BlackJack headers, but my Hookers have little clearance between primary tubes and bolt heads. I tried header bolts (small heads), header studs, but found that Allen head bolts worked best. Problem is getting enough torque on bolt head with open end wrench since sockets will not clear the primary tubes. I cut the handle off a hex hand driver and made an extension for my socket wrench. I had issues with leaking until I used the allen bolts and got torqued down good. Also, re-tighten a few times after heat cycles. I'm using Percy aluminum gaskets with no sealer. No leaks now!!!

I'm using stage 8 header bolts and they are 7/16 12 point with an allen head on them and I have plenty of tube clearance to get them in. Blackjack was bought out by mrgasket, now they are gone, but these headers survived.
whats the best way to remove the ram horn manifolds without snapin the bolts off?

I never removed 40 year-old ram horns, but I would soak in PB Blaster and rap on bolt heads to break rust free for a few days. Maybe put some heat on them too for a few heat cycles to help loosen everything up. Hopefully someone who has done before will chime in.

Are the ports on those headers round or square?

I just removed my original ramhorns a few months ago. I did them cold and they came right off. Piece of cake. Good luck!

Well, I got the headers on this weekend. I cant beleive how easy this job was. manifold bolts came right out. Used Kroil on them a couple times and let it sit for 2 days and it did the trick, cut the old pipes with a sawz all. The stage 8 bolts worked very well, where I couldnt use the open end wrench I was able to use an allen wrench to tighten. Got all the wires to the starter out of the way and spark plugs tucked and tied clear as well. Its going to the exhaust shop tonight. 2.5" back to flowmasters

The ports are square the corners of the ports are inside of the header tube like a square peg in a round hole.
