Well the hood pins are almost done, all the holes are drilled. The bolts that come with the kit are way to short to work on the 1980 hood, so i have to go buy all new fasteners. In my opinion this kit is worth $50.00 not $139.00.
Ok its all finished. Just so you know, you will need some 8/32 machine screws, that are 2" and 1.5" long. I was able to get them at Rona. Which in Canada is your Home Depot in the USA. They are stainless steel too.
eeeehhhh, hood pins... I perfer dzus fittings to hold down the hood of my race car.
grabbed a quick couple of pictures to show, not very good close ups, but they are much smaller and are counter sunk so they are flush with the hood lines. pop off easy and quick too since they self eject. you just need a flat head scew driver or a coin to given em a half turn to lock/unlock.
.....and that matters how, when comparing dzus to hood pins?
I will tell you how it matters. Most of us don't need to completely remove the hood every time we check the fluids. And I don't always have a second person with me to do it so I don't scratch it, nor can I do it outside in the wind...etc....need I go on?

umm you only need two if you still use the stock hood hinges.....need I go on?
Any way i hope this thread can help the next guy who wants to use a set of hood pins on his car?
I have followed several threads on this subject and really like them. You did a great job. Where did you get yours? By the way nice car! It would look really sweet with tinted windows....
