Default 1978 Pacecar Vette with Electrical Issues

Hello Yall,
I have a 1978 25the Anniversary, Limited Edition Pacecar Vette. The Vette was at the paint shop for almost 9 months (another Story). When I got it back I noticed I had no dashboard lights on the right side of the instrument panels (clock, alt, temp, and fuel...gages). I also noticed the "GEN" red light stays on. I replaced the alternator, and checked all the fuses under the dash, but that did not resolve the issue. I also cleaned the area where the battery's ground cable connects to the frame. The Vette drives like new...so whatever the issue is, it seems to be affecting the gages on the right side. The RPM and speedometer gages still light up.

Thanks for any tips in advance

Ollie

I would check the multi-plug that connects to the gauge cluster.

Remove the plug CAREFULLY and make sure all the contacts are in their proper positions....both the plug and socket

The socket has "foil" contacts which are part of the printed circuit board..

When the plug had been removed the contacts sometimes move.

It sounds as if the ground is not properly connected.

Good Luck
